Mr. Coyne defends manufacturers against product liability claims and class action suits. He has tried cases across the country in federal and state courts including personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage. He also has extensive experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution, particularly mediations.

Mr. Coyne advises and directs clients through safety-related issues, including product recalls in conjunction with the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC). He has an extensive background in insurance coverage, tender of defense demands, indemnification and subrogation claims, and frequently deals with litigation-related environmental and regulatory issues at the state, national, and international levels.

Mr. Coyne has received Martindale Hubbell’s Highest Possible Rating in both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards, A-V. Mr. Coyne obtained defense verdicts and negotiated remarkable settlements for:

• A consumer products company accused of fraud;
• A manufacturer accused of importing non-compliant products by the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Justice;
• A manufacturing company accused of a wrongful death resulting from a defectively made product; and
• A manufacturer accused of shipping products into California in violation of California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.
• He has coordinated dozens of product recalls on a nationwide basis with the CPSC and serves as coordinating counsel for a multi-billion dollar global manufacturer of consumer products. He also advises product developers on warnings, quality assurance, and safety standards.
