Jennifer Corso has been named a 2005 Ohio Rising Star Super

Richard Coyne, a Partner in the
Firm's Product Liability
Group spoke at the annual Trial Attorneys of America
conference in Chicago. Mr. Coyne's presentation focused on
how trial counsel can assist design experts or accident
reconstructionists with evidentiary presentations on video or in
the courtroom.

Toni Gideon, a Partner in
the Labor and Employment
Practice Group, has accepted the invitation to join the
William K. Thomas Inn of Court as a Barrister member beginning
September 2005, a three year appointment term. The William
K. Thomas Inn of Court is part of the National American Inns of
Court (AIC), a group founded by the late United States Supreme
Court Justice Warren Burger. The AIC's goal is to foster
excellence and professionalism, ethics, quality, civility, and
legal advocacy skills among judges, lawyers, professors and law
students in order to protect the quality, availability and
efficiency of justice in the United States.

Jennifer Corso, an Associate in the firm's
Labor and Employment
Practice Group, took part in the Cleveland Bar Association's
second annual Back to School Day event, speaking to classes at
Shaw High School about labor and employment law. Jennifer
also chaired and was a speaker at the Cleveland Bar
Association's first pro bono Labor and Employment Law Clinic.

Defense Group, recently lectured at the American Society
for Quality, Product Safety and Liability Prevention
Benchmarking conference. Mr. Coyne addressed the goup on
the value of a product liability risk prevention program that
encompasses a corporation's quality assurance program.

Conducts Seminars
Jennifer A. Corso, an
associate attorney in the
Labor and Employment Law Group, presented two sections of
the "Managing Employee Discipline, Discharge and Documentation
in Ohio" seminar, offered by the Counsel on Education
Management. Ms. Corso's presentations were titled
"Understanding How Recent State and Federal Law Developments
Impact Your Discipline and Termination Policies" and "A
Roadmap of Essential Steps for Lawful Terminations: Protecting
Your Organization and Yourself From Costly Liability."
Ms. Corso also delivered a
session titled "Terminating Employees" for the "Practical
Applications of Employment Law" seminar by Sterling Education
Services.

Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, will
prosecute domestic and international patent and trademark

David R. Knowles Addresses Society for Human Resource
Managers
David R.
Knowles, the firm's Labor and Employment Group Chair, spoke at
a meeting of the Society for Human Resource Mangers,
Lake/Geauga Area Chapter. David's speech entitled "Legal
Update" discussed recent State and Federal Court labor and
employment law decisions and included a review of new and
proposed legislation.
The lawyers in the Labor and Employment Law Group are frequent
speakers at various human resource meetings, as well as
"in-plant" seminars and training sessions. David is
certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in
the field of labor and employment law.
