The Intellectual Property group of Wegman, Hessler and Vanderburg is responsible for the protection and enforcement of patents, trademarks and copyrights in the United States and foreign countries for clients of the firm. The group’s attorneys practice in a wide variety of intellectual property matters and work in close cooperation with other practice areas to assure that all client needs are properly addressed. The group relies upon interdisciplinary collaboration among attorneys with experience in patent and trademark law, commercial transactions, and litigation.

Our patent attorneys are registered to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and possess a variety of technical degrees and background experience to represent clients in the United States Patent and Trademark Office in a multiplicity of different technological areas. Because the intellectual property group practices worldwide, our Patent and Trademark attorneys have forged valuable relationships with foreign patent and trademark attorneys and agents to provide comprehensive and trustworthy advice and protection for our clients’ foreign intellectual property assets.

Our patent and trademark lawyers and those in our Business and Commercial Law group cooperate to draft joint venture, research and development agreements, licenses, secrecy agreements, supply agreements, distributorship contracts, and intellectual property asset transfer documents.
