Professional Experience

Lesley Weigand counsels companies and individuals in a broad range of organizational and operational matters including estate planning, corporate governance and structure, credit policy, finance, real estate, tax, and litigation.

Lesley enjoys working with family businesses and privately-held businesses on strategy and succession planning. A particular area of growth in Lesley’s practice is the international expansion of business operations through distributorships, alliances, partnerships and acquisitions. Lesley’s background in accounting and taxation enables her to provide critical insight and guidance to these enterprises.

Lesley’s practice areas include:

  • Estate Planning
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Tax
  • Corporate Governance
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Mediation
  • Corporate Law
  • Real Estate

As businesses look for new avenues of revenue growth, international transactions are becoming increasingly more popular. Among matters of recent interest, Lesley participated in the negotiation and completion of a $15M acquisition of a Swedish entity on behalf of a multi-national family-held business enterprise. Lesley also represents a local privately-held company expanding its business through distributorships in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Southeast Asia and India and through direct sales in the UK, Australia, Brazil and Mongolia.

Helping families pass philanthropic values from one generation to the next is a particular passion of Lesley’s. Over the years Lesley has found that the family foundation model enables the next generation to learn investment strategies, corporate governance and civic responsibilities.  She is honored to help many families, with all degrees of wealth, plan with this strategy. Due to Lesley’s background and experience she has been invited to serve on the Board of Directors for several privately-held and not-for-profit businesses in Northeast Ohio.
