The Wegman, Hessler & Vanderburg Litigation Group represents public and privately held companies in a broad variety of business disputes involving disgruntled shareholders, non-compete agreements, theft of trade secrets, breach of contract, stock purchases, insurance coverage, intellectual property, employment and issues unique to closely held businesses, partnerships and limited liability companies.  Our attorneys also represent individuals in estate, trust and other fiduciary matters, as well as personal injury and accident litigation.

We also have specialized commercial litigation experience dealing with issues which challenge large manufacturing companies.  Since 1968 we have represented an international manufacturer of outdoor power equipment in contested matters involving dealers, distributors, suppliers and consumers.  As an outgrowth of this work, we represent other major manufacturers of outdoor power equipment in defending litigation claims in Ohio, including defense of warranty and consumer protection claims.  We also have extensive experience in defending manufacturers against claims by dealers or distributors for wrongful contract termination or loss of distribution rights.

In our litigation efforts, our goal is to assist our clients in minimizing the risk and exposure of doing business in today’s litigious world.  The goal is frequently accomplished through our extensive experience utilizing alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation, early neutral evaluation and arbitration.  When we can assist in avoiding costly litigation, we believe we have accomplished our primary goal for our clients.  If litigation, however, is unavoidable for the protection of our client’s interests, our attorneys are prepared to protect these interests aggressively, and do so in a cost effective manner.  We constantly strive to minimize the risks of litigation by properly evaluating the case early, effectively preparing for trial or other disposition, and limiting our client’s expenses.
