Litigation attorney Sean Lavin has more than twenty years of recognized experience representing businesses and individuals in multiple areas of civil litigation in state and federal court, including complex commercial disputes. He has served as lead counsel and handled a diverse range of corporate and compliance matters for both local and national companies. He also has experience counseling and representing individuals and companies during white criminal investigations at the state and federal level.

Professional Experience

Sean Lavin, a Partner in the Litigation practice area at Wegman Hessler, has practiced civil litigation in Cleveland for more than twenty years, representing businesses and individuals in state and federal court.
Sean has served as lead counsel in numerous business disputes, including those involving temporary restraining orders and injunctive relief.  He also won a jury verdict for compensatory and punitive damages in a federal defamation lawsuit and successfully secured government intervention in multiple False Claims Act matters leading to favorable settlements for his clients. Sean’s white collar criminal experience has included securing prosecution deferrals on behalf of individuals being investigation for alleged state and federal criminal offenses.
Before entering private practice, Sean served as a law clerk to the Honorable Anthony O. Calabrese, Jr. on the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals, and as a judicial staff attorney to numerous state court judges, including the Honorable Ronald Suster in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.
